The British Council English for Development Conference in Montenegro is one of the most anticipated events this year. The purpose of the Conference is to put teaching and professional development of teachers in a broader perspective of teachers’ role in the national and global economic and social development. We believe that English is a key prerequisite for Montenegro’s economic development, especially in the high end tourism and hospitality industry. In order to attract foreign investment, develop international cooperation, engage in academic mobility and research and participate in the global market, the national education system must help its learners sharpen their competitive edge and prepare them for the fast-moving world of work.
The main focus of the Conference will be Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of teachers in the 21st century. On this day, the British Council is launching its first Global Online CPD Conference with over 100 participating countries where our office will present the reform work we do in English here in Montenegro. The CPD conference will showcase best practices and provide direction for the future.
Cutting-edge topics and interactive sessions, including English for Development, English as a Facilitator of Economic Development of Montenegro, English: Going Digital, Continuing Professional Development, National Standards for Teachers, British Council Work on the English Reform in Montenegro, Implementation and Lessons learnt from the British Council Teacher Training in Montenegro, promise a dynamic experience for conference participants.
